Killzone: Shadow Fall's first multiplayer expansion, The Insurgent Pack, has been revealed by Sony.
The DLC is set to add a new Character Class, three new abilities, three new weapons and two new game modes.
Set against a backdrop of the Helghast government secretly funding the Black Hand, who in turn have infiltrated Vekta City, The Insurgent Pack follows the VSA starting a programme that sends saboteurs disguised as refugees to the Helghast side of the wall.
As you can probably predict from the name, the new class is The Insurgent, which comes replete with two unique abilities: Hack and Steal. Insurgents begin with just a pistol, though your arsenal can grow by stealing weapons from downed enemies, and anything stolen will persist in death. You can also hack enemy ground automata to work for you.
The new abilities meanwhile will be available for the Scout, Support and Assault classes. The first ability, E-Pulse emitter, sends out a pulse that makes it harder for enemies to install automata in the area. The second, Tactical Echo emitter, sends out a wave from a fixed location, making infiltration by hidden units more difficult. Finally the Guard Drone will protect whatever location you drop it at from ground level.
New weapons take the form of the M82, the classic assault rifle from Killzone 2 and 3, along with the L512 SMG Pistol and Sta14 Rifle. Online collectibles have also been added to the game to give you rewards, alongside new personalisation packs.
Finally, the single-player portion of the game will get a new Elite mode, promising "nightmarish difficulty".
The Insurgent Pack will be available in April for €9.99, or free to Season Pass holders. To tide you over, Sony has released a new batch of maps on PlayStation Store for free download.
