The only thing that can take down Liam Neeson is Liam Neeson. The big fella's new thriller Non-Stop knocked long-reigning champ The LEGO Movie, in which Neeson voices one of the villains, from atop the box office this Oscar weekend.
The airborne action-thriller opened in first place with an estimated $30 million, while fellow new release Son of God debuted with $26.5 million. The latter film is from husband-wife producers Mark Burnett and Roma Downey, the makers of the hit miniseries The Bible.
The LEGO Movie fell to third place with an estimated $21 million.
