A wad of alleged details from Respawn’s upcoming Titanfall have made their way onto the web via a Reddit user citing a “reliable source” and posting several new screenshots. The tipster has put the map count at 15, as was the case in mid-February when a neoGAF user reportedly unearthed a host of Titanfall info by digging around in the belly of the beta, but also describes the use of turrets, ziplines, as well as a game mode called Pilot Hunter.
The leaker in question has also provided a screenshot of the screen displayed to players who have earned the chance to “regenerate” as part of Titanfall’s ‘Generations’ levelling system.
Turrets are described as fixed emplacements which have “a considerable range of motion and excellent target tracking systems.” Reportedly multiple Titans will usually be required to destroy these autonomous turrets but, in most cases, they can also be hacked to change sides and fight on the other team’s behalf.
Ziplines purportedly travel both ways, and players can apparently attach from either end or in mid-air if they’re close enough.
Pilot Hunter is allegedly a mode where only enemy pilots count towards the score limit and one point is awarded for each pilot killed. Killing the AI-controlled grunts and spectres in this mode will apparently not accumulate points towards your team’s final score in this mode, but will still speed up the build times of your replacement Titans.
Finally the tipster asserts that there are nine campaign matches in Titanfall, and you can play from both the IMC and Militia sides. Each match will apparently consist of five Attrition and four Hardpoint games and each side also has its own, unique pre-match briefings and battle chatter.
Titanfall is due out for PC and Xbox One on March 11 in North America, March 13 in Europe and Australia, and March 14 in the UK and NZ. Titanfall on Xbox 360 lands on March 25 in North America and March 28 in PAL territories.
