Xbox One System Update Rolling Out Now

Xbox One's March update began rolling out today, and to coincide with its release, Microsoft have given us the most comprehensive list of the update's details to date.

"We have received lots of feedback since the launch of Xbox One in November and listening closely to you," says Microsoft's chief product officer Marc Whitten. He claims that some of the patch's biggest features were implemented to address feedback from gamers. This includes being able to get to your friends list faster, Dolby Digital sound support, and updates to the party and multiplayer systems.

Additionally, there are some smaller updates that may be "less obvious, but still important," according to Whitten. These include things such as volume up/down adjustments, new SmartGlass integrations, support for new Xbox One accessories, and browser improvements.

You can view the full list at the Xbox Wire blog. As Whitten emphasises, the primary purpose of this patch is to provide a better platform for Titanfall in time for its March 11 release.

He also hints at what might be coming in future updates: "We know external hard drive storage is another big one on your list. It’s on our list too. We’re working on that for a future update and will keep you posted. We’re also working on friends notification improvements and experimenting with how to make that better."
