Ever since it was first revealed that Godzilla was going to have a kaiju opponent in the upcoming 2014 film, fans have wondered whether it was going to be a returning monster or a newcomer. Now, it looks like we have our answer.
Cosmic Book News got a look at a destructible battle toy set. The set gives fans their first look at the King of Monsters' adversary: the bizarre-looking MUTO kaiju.

While licensed toys often invent characters and variations of characters not found in the source material, it's very likely that this is the actual monster design. IGN's Daemon Hatfield and Jared Petty discuss the leg -- which looks exactly like the legs on this toy -- that appears at 11:22 in their Rewind of the most recent trailer.
Godzilla is directed by Gareth Edwards (Monsters) and stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass), Elizabeth Olson (Avengers: Age of Ultron), Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) and Ken Watanabe (Inception). The film hits theaters May 16.
