Infamous: Second Son Pre-Ordered More Than The Last of Us

Sony has confirmed that Infamous: Second Son pre-orders are already outnumbering those enjoyed by The Last of Us in the UK.

MCV reports that more people have registered their interest in the game than did so for Naughty Dog's epic before it was released.

While this isn't overly surprising, what with the relative lack of other big PS4 titles out and the fact that Infamous is an established franchise, it's still a great sign for the game. Sony is looking to boost the numbers even further by spending serious cash on TV and video on demand advertising, as well as showing trailers in cinemas.

“We have high expectations for Infamous: Second Son and are excited by the level of pre-orders which are exceeding that of The Last of Us at this point in the run up to its launch,” said SCE UK product manager Josh Walker.

“We can already see it benefiting from the goodwill and of buzz surrounding the PlayStation 4 and expect Second Son to be the biggest game in the Infamous series to date.”

It was revealed last week that the upcoming PS4-exclusive will require a 24GB install before you can start exploring, and there won't be any multiplayer. For much more on Second Son, be sure to read about how Sucker Punch recreated Seattle and check out our hands-on impressions.
