Straley and Druckmann NOT Involved in Amy Hennig's Departure, Says Naughty Dog

The two co-presidents of developer Naughty Dog have released a statement clarifying that other key employees were not factors in the departure of Uncharted series writer Amy Hennig.

"We feel it necessary to clear up a very important point that was unprofessionally misreported when the story broke," Evan Walls and Christophe Balestra said in a joint statement on Naughty Dog's site. "Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann were NOT involved in what transpired."

The statement does not offer further clarification on Hennig's departure, with the co-presidents signing off with: "There is nothing left to be said on this subject. Now we’re going back to what we should be focused on – making games."

News of Hennig's departure first came through a few days ago, amidst rumours that The Last of Us' Druckmann and Straley had "forced [her] out" of the studio, with the possibility of Uncharted for PS4 coming under their control.

Speaking with IGN earlier today, Sony's Scott Rohde disagreed with rumours that Hennig was "pushed out" of the company. He said simply that "People change, business changes, things change."

There is no word yet on where Hennig may take her writing skills next. Development on Uncharted 4's is reportedly unaffected.
