The beta build of independently developed action-adventure game Lifeless Planet has now hit Steam Early Access.
"Lifeless Planet is being developed almost entirely by one person, so I'm putting the game in Early Access to get assistance from the community to make sure bugs are fixed and gameplay is refined before launch," writes David Board of Stage 2 Studios. "... The levels I'm sharing in early access (levels 1-6 of 20 levels) are in beta."
"97% of the final content is there, but there will likely be a few small additions, and there are definitely a few bugs to fix. Missing features that will be added later include German and Russian (at least) languages, a Mac version, Steam Achievements, and subtitles throughout the game. I'm also still refining the auto-save feature since right now..."
Lifeless Planet, inspired by 1950s sci-fi and classic games like The Dig, follows the journey of an astronaut who discovers an abandoned Russian laboratory on a distant planet. Board estimates that it will be in early access for "at least 10 weeks" before its final release.
It's currently selling for US$13 on Steam, a 25% discount from what will be the retail price. It will release on PC and Mac.
