Watch Dogs to Have 8-Player Open World Multiplayer

Watch Dogs will feature free roam multiplayer for up to eight players in its open world.

The news comes via Ubisoft creative director Jonathan Morin, who responded to a fan on Twitter asking what we should expect outside of the game's single-player offerings.

The news comes hot on the heels that the game finally has a release date in May. This means that Watch Dogs received six months of extra development following previous delays. Ubisoft delayed Watch Dogs just a month before the game was supposed to come out in November 2013, which in turn led to us chatting to the developer about quite why this was done.

Despite a scare last month when the game's trademark was abandoned, Ubisoft since explained that such a move was the result of fraud, before successfully getting the trademark restored.
