Infamous: Second Son Dev Talks Sequel and DLC

The game director of Infamous: Second Son has talked about the future of the franchise, as well as revealed that DLC is being created for the upcoming game.

Speaking to IGN, Sucker Punch's Nate Fox explained that while no decisions had been made regarding the studio's next project, the premise upon which Infamous is built remains a rich vein.

"What the next game is? Who knows," he said. "I certainly think Infamous is a great franchise for more games because it’s just about an everyday guy that gets powers and decides if he wants to use them for good or evil, and that’s a lot of stories, you know? That’s somebody young or old, male or female, in any country in the world. It’d work."

I certainly think Infamous is a great franchise for more games.

Following this, Fox spoke about upcoming DLC for Infamous: Second Son, confirming that some was in development and it'd enable the studio to really push the boundaries.

"Sucker Punch is hard at work on more Second Son content and I can’t wait for people to play it," Fox revealed. "It’s got a lot of the things that I’d like to have seen in this game and now we get to do them, now that we have total mastery over our tools and time, it’ll be great. I can’t you the details of the content just yet, though."

Sony announced this morning that pre-orders for the game are currently performing better in the UK than those of The Last of Us, and a launch party for the title is taking place later tonight. You can watch it on IGN.

It was revealed last week that the upcoming PS4-exclusive will require a 24GB install before you can start exploring, and there won't be any multiplayer. For much more on Second Son, be sure to read about how Sucker Punch recreated Seattle and check out our hands-on impressions.
