What Happened to End of Nations?

Trion Worlds has confirmed that its long-in-the-making End of Nations is now "on hold."

"As we informed EON’s community last fall, internal development on End of Nations was put on hold in late 2013 while we evaluated potential paths forward for the title," Trion told VideoGamer in a statement. In other words, it's pretty much cancelled.

Users on the Games subreddit first noticed yesterday that all mentions of End of Nations had been removed from Trion Worlds' official website.

End of Nations first started life as a PC-exclusive MMORTS; we previewed it all the way back in 2010, and closed beta tests were running as late as September 2012. It was eventually redeveloped into a free-to-play MOBA, followed by months of silence.

Developer and publisher Trion Worlds says it will be focusing its energies on Rift, Defiance, ArcheAge, recently announced world-building RPG Trove, and some soon-to-be-revealed "new projects" instead.
